This 0.8 hectare forest garden of Adriaan Joubert in Wellington in the Western Cape will be open to the public for the first time until end of October 2012 from Tuesdays to Sundays between 10h00 to 17h00. This young garden, established in 2005 in a grove of old wild olive trees on a stony slope, already features over a thousand clivias, as well as azaleas, bromeliads and ferns under the trees and next to waterstreams. Indigenous plants mix well with exotics in this ambitious gardenThe tea garden will serve sumpteous tea, coffee and cake. Picnic baskets available on prior arrangement. (Bring own blanket.) Olive oil and olives from the farm will be on sale. Walking and mountain bike trail through fynbos with magnificent views of the valley offer an additional activity for the nature enthusiasts. Entry fee is R10 p.p. and will be donated towards a good cause. Free entry for children under 12, supervised by parents.
