Wellington Wine aplenty for a (leap) year

Written by  Wellington Tourism

At the recent Wellington Wine Harvest Festival, the annual 365 competition once again attracted many winelovers to enter the competition which puts a bottle of wine on the table for every night of the year. In 2012 that meant 366 bottles contributed from roughly 20 estates, wineries and farms.

Raphael and Gail Cornelius of Kuilsriver were the lucky recipients of this instant cellar and when he received the phone call to inform him, he had to promptly sit down.

The Corneliuses do not have a cellar but they will be storing the wine in their garage until they have made other plans. In the mean time friends and family are eagerly awaiting invitations to the hospitable Cornelius family.

When asked what they will be doing with all the wine the answer was: ‘Drink every drop’.
