press release NEWCOMER TO CAPE TOWN WINS INSTANT CELLAR » Download text | Image
Cindy and her friends started off by tasting brandy and chocolate at Savingnac de Versailles, moved on to the market at Welgegund and Mont du Toit where they sampled a spread of goodies, had lunch (Crayfish nogal) at Linton Park and ended off the day with a heady cocktail at Mischa Estate. As they left for home she noticed the 365 competition box and promptly entered, not giving it a second thought. "When I received the phone call to say I had won the competition, it was a wonderful surprise, but when I heard that it was 365 bottles of wine I was speechless - the wine rack in my kitchen holds 10 bottles!" Cindy is planning to share some of her wine with friends and colleagues but the bulk will be going towards an instant cellar. She is also looking forward to sharing this lovely dinner table story with all and sundry who will be drinking from her Wellington collection of fine wines. This generous competition, where all the wine route members donate wines, will be repeated during the Wellington Wine Harvest Festival in March 2010. Be sure that you don't miss out.
English Following a very successful festival last year, the 3rd Wellington Wine Harvest Festival took place with an exciting line-up of entertainment and activities, and of course, the annual opportunity to sniff, swill and swig most of the Val du Charron's finest wines, over a festive two-day period. Wellington has a vast number of attractions to lure potential visitors - a friendly, hospitable town, spectacular scenery, fascinating characters, and a dense concentration of beautiful, historic wine farms (boasting a remarkable number of award-winning wines), all within easy driving distance of each other. The next festival will take place on 13 and 14 March 2010. Wellington looks forward to welcoming you as a friend. Don't be surprised if you leave feeling like part of our growing family. Toegangskaartjies beskikbaar by Wellington Toerisme kantoor of enige deelnemende wynkelder gedurende die naweek.

When Cindy Crompton was invited to attend the Wine Harvest Festival in Wellington earlier this year, she jumped at it even though she had other plans. "When I moved down from KZN 6 months ago, visiting wine farms was something that I had promised myself to do". When she bought her pass and glass at the Info office on the Saturday morning in Wellington, little did she know that she was going to win big.
